As part of co-curricular activities, we arranged an educational trip to Masinagudi and Mysore. On the way to Masinagudi, we visited 'Wood Bridge Tea Factory'. Various stages of tea processing were described to us. There were two processing units - Black tea and Green tea. The guide explained even the minute things regarding the processing. We were more interested in green tea when the merits of it were explained. For most of us it was a new information that green tea can reduce high blood pressure and the growth of unwanted cells which may cause cancer. We also got a chance to taste green tea.
From there the bus headed to next destination. It stopped near a bamboo grove. We had our lunch by sharing the items that we had brought.
The journey to Masinagudi was really thrilling with music and dance. A herd of elephants gave us a warm greeting. They were very close to our bus so that we were frozen.
By evening, we reached Blue Valley Resorts. After refreshing ourselves, we started climbing up a nearby hill. Eventhough at first it was tedious, later we were entrapped in the beauty of surroundings. At the top, there was a temple. To watch Masinagudi town from the top was a grand feast to our eyes.
That night we had a Camp Fire and enjoyed with songs and steps till dinner.
Next day we travelled to Mysore. First we paid a visit to Chamundi hills. The statue of 'Mahishasura' welcomed us to the temple hill. We spent nearly an hour by visiting Chamundeshwari temple and by posing for photos, here and there.
While we were coming down, we spent a few minutes to visit Nandi.
Our next destination was the Mysore Zoo. It provided a lot of information about the habitat and features of different members of animal kingdom. Almost every wild animals were there ranging from beautiful pretty birds to the ferocious lions, tigers and cheetahs.
Apes, rhinoceros, white deer, african elephants, kangaroos, giraffe, anaconda etc. were a few among the main attractions of the zoo.
Then we visited the St. Philomina's church and finally the huge magnificient Mysore Palace.
